“The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.” Isaiah 9:2.
We often seek continuous spiritual highs, believing our journey with God should always feel uplifting. Eventually, we face discouragement in valleys between these peaks. Like Jesus returning from the Mount of Transfiguration, we must bring what we’ve learned in those moments of light into times of darkness. The insights gained on the mountaintop are meant to guide us through the valleys—remain in the Light even when surrounded by darkness.
Abba, if it weren’t for the great light You provide when I think about Your Word, I would be lost in the darkness of this world. But Your Light guides me, and sin’s darkness can’t stand against the Light of Your Word. Spirit of God, help me stay in the Light. Amen.
