Understanding God’s Word requires a right relationship with Him. Without giving Him the preeminence, His teachings will seem mysteroius and burdensome, and won’t ignite spiritual transformation..
When He is given priority, the Word brings clarity, warmth, strength, and meaningful impact to your life.
God does not hide His truth; rather, we may not be ready to accept it. Not surrendering to His Lordship will hinder your ability to perceive and receive guidance from the Holy Spirit, leaving you to figure it our yourself. An impossibly task.
Resist the urge to give Him this but not that, to obey this command but not that one. “I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now,” John 16:12.
