The Path of the Just, Introduction

Your Spiritual Journey

Before sunrise, you and your friends start a hike on an unfamiliar path in the woods. Your flashlight cuts through the darkness until dawn, when sunlight takes over. By noon, you arrive at a brightly lit clearing; the sun is directly overhead, lighting everything.

Solomon, in Proverbs 4, warns us not to follow the path of those who live as though there is no God. 

The path we are called to take is a well-traveled, time proven one, beginning in utter darkness.  In time, enlightenment comes, growing brighter over time until it eradicates even the slightest hint of darkness in your life.

Those truly committed to following Jesus share this common path. Today’s message, as well as those in the coming months, will focus on this journey.

Solomon refers to the path in Proverbs 4:18.  “But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.” 

The path consists of 22 characteristics shared by individuals who earnestly follow Jesus. It is understandable to feel overwhelmed by the prospect of additional duties, especially 22 of them.  However, the path of the just lessons learned along your spiritual journey and emphasizes attitude over action. When your perspective shifts, your life begins to align effortlessly with your biblical outlook.

Every journey starts in uncertainty, with few details shared. We often pursue a meaningful life in Christ without clear guidance. Here, I will cover the practical aspects. Ready?
